Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2016

 

OSU cello students were accepted to study at the Eastman School of Music, Rice Univesity, Oberlin, Indiana University, Cincinnati Conservatory, SMU, Colorado State, Florida State, and DePaul University.

​

2016 has been full of student accomplishments.  Here is what they students have been up to:

• Sophie Deng, 3rd Place Winner: Classic Artists Alive Competition, October 2016

• Benjamin Lanners, Winner: Hyechka String Competition, March 5th, 2016

• Benjamin Lanners was selected to play in the National Youth Orchestra.  He will tour with the orchestra across much of Europe this summer.

• Sophie Deng, 2nd Place Winner: American Protege Concerto Competition.  She will play in Carnegie again in November.

• Laura Deng, Winner: Buttram Competititon, Jan. 31st, Oklahoma City

• Sophie Deng, Winner: Keith Cello Competition, Jan. 31st, Oklahoma City

• Ben Lanners, Winner: MTNA Senior Competition - State Round, Runner-Up: South Central Regional, Jan. 2016
